Commissioners Okay Bid for Jail System

(Farmington, MO) A new computerized system for keeping track of inmates daily activities will be coming to the St. Francois County jail after County Commissioners approved the opening of the only bid received for the project at Tuesday's commission meeting. Presiding St. Francois County Commissioner, Harold Gallaher, says the system is an internal record keeping program that helps cover the county's liability.

In other business the renovation of the old Mineral Area Regional Medical Center was discussed. Legal wording is still being looked at that could effect certain funding before the project completes. Striping Berry Road at the new Dollar General Store entrance north of St. Francois State Park. It was decided the striping is a safety issue but commissioners are trying to discover if the county has the authority to do the work or if the state would be responsible.
