Commission Approves New CPI for Budget

(Farmington, MO) The Consumer Price Index, or CPI, used to produce the fiscal year budgets for St. Francois County, is now at 7% after Tuesday's county commission meeting. The Presiding Commissioner of St. Francois County, Harold Gallaher, says when they began budget meetings, inflation was figured in with a CPI of 5%.

In other business at Tuesday's St. Francois County Commission meeting the informal bid rate for the county was raised from $500 to $1500. The move allows a wider range of acceptable costs for the county's emergency purchases.
