Cold Weather Advisory in Effect for the Parkland Tonight

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for the Parkland starting at midnight tonight and lasting until noon on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures ranging from -8° in northeast Missouri to near 5° in southeast Missouri. Combined with northwest winds of 5-12 mph, wind chill values could plunge as low as -12° across the Parkland, with the most extreme cold expected on Tuesday morning.

Cold Weather Safety Tips:

  • Dress in layers to retain body heat.
  • Limit outdoor activities and time spent outside.
  • Bring pets indoors to protect them from the cold.
  • Cover exposed skin to prevent frostbite, which can occur in minutes in these conditions.
