City of Farmington Names New Parks and Recreation Director

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Farmington has appointed Lainie Gault as the new Parks and Recreation Director. Gault began her new role on January 2, 2025, and is now responsible for overseeing the Farmington Civic Center, the city’s parks system, the Farmington Water Park, and the Centene Center.

Gault, a graduate of Farmington High School, started her career in parks and recreation as a teenager at the Farmington City Pool. Her early passion for the field led her to earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri St. Louis and a master’s degree in health promotion and exercise science from Penn West.

With three decades of experience at Emerson Electric in St. Louis, Gault has held roles ranging from fitness instructor to wellness coordinator and site manager for the company’s fitness and recreation program at its global headquarters.

“I am excited to be working for the City of Farmington again. It brings things full circle to be back at the place I began my career. I look forward to working with the Parks and Recreation Department and collaborating with other city departments and committees to continue building on the variety of great existing programs,” Gault said.
