Child Dies in Doe Run Fire

(Doe Run, MO) A child is dead after a residential structure fire in Doe Run this morning. The Fire Chief of the Doe Run Fire Protection District, Bobby Usher, says his crew was called to the blaze on Highway B, about 3 blocks off Highway 221, just after 2 am Tuesday morning.

According to Usher there were two adults in the home as well as the child. The adults escaped and one of them attempted to go back into the burning structure. He was found and pulled out of the building by members of the St. Francois County Ambulance District upon their arrival. Usher said he also wants to thank all the additional departments that provided assistance including the Farmington, Wolf Creek, and Park Hills fire departments. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.The names of the child and the adults are not being released yet.
