Bonne Terre Man Injured in Wreck

(Washington County, MO.) A Bonne Terre man, 39 year old Douglas M. Degonia, is recovering from moderate injuries after he was in an accident involving a two semi trucks Tuesday afternoon in Washington County. According to Highway Patrol records Degonia was driving north on Highway 185, near Old Jefferson City Road, about 10 minutes after 2 o'clock when the truck had a mechanical problem causing Degonia to lose control of the semi. It struck the trailer of another semi driven south by 37 year old Robert O'Neal of Cadet. Degonia overcorrected and the truck swerved off the right side of the highway and rolled over. Degonia was taken to Washington County Memorial Hospital. O'Neal was not injured. Both men were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.
