Blunt on Veterans Day and What it Means

(Washington, D.C.) Today is Veteran's Day and due to the pandemic some events have been curtailed, or even completely canceled. Whatever happens with our celebrations this Veteran's Day Missouri United States Senator, Roy Blunt says commemorating this special day for veterans becomes a very special and personal event.

Blunt also reminds us of the reason Veteran's Day is on the 11th of November. It commemorates the end of fighting in 1918 as World War I was coming to a close. A temporary cessation of hostilities, between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For that reason, November 11, 1918, is generally regarded as the end of  the war to end all wars.
