(St. Francois County, MO.) Most schools in St. Francois County begin classes today. KFMO B104 News talked with the Superintendents of Central, West County, Bismarck, North County, Farmington, Potosi, and St. Paul Lutheran High School. Many of these schools have new Superintendents after several retirements. In the Central Schools Ashley McMillian takes over for Desi Mayberry. McMillian say he'll make it a point to visit with as many students and faculty as he can.
In the Bismarck Schools, Jason King is the Superintendent again this year. King tells us they've improved security in the district.
The West County School District saw several retirements this year including that of former Superintendent, Stacy Stevens. The Middle School Principal, Kevin Coffman took over for Stevens. Coffman says with all these new faces it brings a fresh outlook to education at West County.
Jeff Levy is the new Superintendent of the North County District. He replaces Dr. Yancy Poorman in the position. Levy says the Superintendent's job is a big responsibility that allows him to see the inner workings of the district.
