Authorities Investigate Early Morning Crash at Caliber Collision in Farmington

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - In the early hours of Thursday morning, a pickup truck crashed into Caliber Collision, an auto repair business located in Farmington.

Authorites were dispatched at 5:02 a.m. According to a report by the Farmington Police Department, 71-year-old Richard Barnes, of Bismarck, was driving his pickup southbound on Highway 67 when he fell asleep at the wheel. The truck ran off the road and jumped the ditch line, where it collided with the building. The vehicle also hit another vehicle inside of the shop that was being repaired, as well as, slung debris onto another vehicle inside the shop.

The driver was transported to Parkland Health Center South with minor injuries.

No one was inside of the building at the time of the incident. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
