Another Round of Winter Weather is on Tap for the Parkland

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The Parkland is bracing for another round of winter weather, with 2 to 4 inches of snow expected across the region.

Areas further south could see higher accumulations nearing 5 inches. A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect at 6 p.m. this evening and remain in place through 6 p.m. Friday for St. Francois, Jefferson, Ste. Genevieve and Washington Counties. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect during the same time for Iron, Madison, Perry and Reynolds Counties.

The onset of snow is projected to begin between 9 p.m. and midnight, meaning the evening commute is not expected to be impacted. However, residents should prepare for hazardous travel conditions late tonight and into Friday morning. The system is forecast to exit the region between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Friday, allowing for gradual improvement in road conditions.

Overnight lows on Thursday will dip into the 20s, with highs on Friday only reaching the 30s, keeping much of the snow in place until warmer conditions return.
