Missouri Senator Pushes Bill to Fix Benevolent Tax Credit Issues

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - State Senator Mike Henderson is pushing a bill to address issues with Missouri’s benevolent tax credits, which apply to donations made to nonprofit organizations.

Henderson says the current law unintentionally penalizes some donors.

Under his proposed legislation, donors who receive a reduced tax credit notice from the state would be granted an extension to pay their taxes. The bill has already been heard in committee.
