(St. Francois County, MO.) Some damage is being reported throughout St. Francois and some surrounding counties after the severe thunderstorm that moved through just before 5 a.m. this morning. Scanner reports from the KFMO B104 Newsroom during the storm told of limbs blocking roadways, electrical lines down, and transformer explosions. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says the hardest hit areas were from Park HIlls North into the northern parts of St. Francois County. Wind gusts of 45 to 50 miles per hour, plus local gusts to as much as 60 miles an hour were recorded. Rain amounts fell within the 1 to 1 and a half inch range. Desloge City Administrator, Dan Bryan, says they had serious road blockage this morning on several streets and damage at Brightwell Park.
Mark McFarland is the City Administrator of Park Hills and he says residents didn't see much damage.
Officials with Ameren electric says around 4 thousand St. Francois County residents were with out electricity for several hours.
