Update on Man Shot by Police

(Desloge, MO) Highway Patrol officials say they are still waiting to see if charges will be filed against the man who allegedly pointed a rifle at police in Desloge Monday night. The man was shot after police were called to an address on North Cantwell Lane in Desloge. Police reports from the Highway Patrol show when officers arrived they started to walk up to the front door of the residence. The man entered the yard with a rifle. It's alleged he raised the rifle and pointed it at officers. They shot the suspect before he could fire at them. The man was hit in the stomach and was taken to a St. Louis hospital. The investigation continues as police wait for the man to recover so they can look into charges over the incident. If he survives and is charged his name will be released.
