Unofficial Results on Issues in Election

(Farmington, MO) Additional sales tax proposals will go into effect in St. Francois County after Tuesday's elections. The internet sales tax measure was voted down by county voters. It would have seen over a million dollars in additional revenue for the county if it had passed. Voters approved Proposition Swim for a new aquatic center in Park Hills and Bonne Terre's Proposition 1, for Public Safety, was also an issue voters said yes to. In Bismarck the fire protection district's property tax levy, to help sustain the department, was approved. The measure to provide a City Collector for Bismarck also received a positive vote. Other issues included a 1% sales tax for Leadwood for public safety. It was approved and the City of Leadington's 1/2% sales tax for city government also passed. In Iron Mountain Lake a sales tax for public parks passed.
