Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on West Outer Road in Jefferson County

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A serious multi-vehicle accident occurred on West Outer Road in Jefferson County, involving three vehicles and leaving two drivers with significant injuries.

The crash took place north of Charles J. Becker Road, just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, when a car driven by 24-year-old Jacob W. Adden, of Springfield, Il., was traveling south. Two SUVs were heading north on the same road—one driven by 72-year-old Gerald F. Cannito. of Arnold, and the other by 32-year-old Ashley N. Ledbetter, of Imperial. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Adden's car crossed the center line, stricking the left front of Cannito's SUV. Debris from the impact struck Ledbetter’s vehicle.

Both Adden and Cannito sustained serious injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital South for treatment. Police confirmed that Adden was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
