Truck Carrying Concrete Beam Strikes Traffic Signal

Hillsboro, Mo. (KFMO) - It was a mess Wednesday at the intersection of Business 21 and State Rd. A in Hillsboro, after a mechnical failure caused a truck carrying a large concrete beam to lose control and strike a traffic signal.

The traffic signal fell and the concrete beam also fell off the rear of the truck. According to the Hillsboro Fire Protection District, emergency crews were on the scene for several hours as multiple tow companies worked to open the roadway.

The Missouri Department of Transportation put up a temporary traffic signal Thursday, until the traffic signal can be replaced. It could be sometime until the intersection is back to normal.

No injuries were reported.
