Ste. Genevieve County Fatal Crash

Ste. Genevieve Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A man from Arnold, 21-year-old Keegan P. Schubert, is dead after a police chase in Ste. Genvieve Friday night.

Highway Patrol reports indicate the crash occurred just after 8:30 p.m., as Schubert was headed west on Route O, east of Highway 32 trying to evade police. The car ran off the left side of the road and crashed into an embankment and then struick a tree.

Schubert was not wearing a seat belt during the accident. He was pronounced dead on the scene. It's still unclear why he was trying to evade police.
