Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The Parkland saw significant snowfall on Friday, January 10, with totals varying across the region. Potosi recorded the highest accumulation, measuring 6.5 inches, while communities like Bonne Terre and Ste. Genevieve saw 4 inches of snow.
Farmington experienced 5.7 inches, coming in second among the area’s highest totals recorded. Fredericktown and Perryville both recorded 5.5 inches, while Richwoods measured 5 inches. DeSoto and Arnold saw 4.3 and 4.2 inches, respectively.
The winter weather caused hazardous driving conditions, school cancellations, and delays throughout the area. Many residents spent the day shoveling driveways and sidewalks as road crews worked to keep major thoroughfares passable.
Meteorologists anticipate colder temperatures will persist, which may lead to icy conditions in the coming days. Authorities encourage residents to exercise caution while traveling and to allow extra time to reach their destinations.
