Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - In this Progress in the Parkland, Farmington residents are eagerly awaiting the opening of the city's newest fast-food destination—Chick-fil-A.
Crews have been hard at work for several months on the Maple Valley location at 914 Valley Creek Drive, the site of the former Office Max. The project is now in its final stages, with an official opening date yet to be announced, though it's expected to take place sometime in October.
Each Chick-fil-A franchise is locally owned and operated, and with the Farmington location, it's estimated that between 80 to 120 new jobs will be created for the community. City officials are optimistic about the economic boost this addition will bring to the area.
Farmington City Administrator Greg Beavers expressed enthusiasm for the new restaurant.
However, with the expected influx of traffic, Beavers also anticipates potential issues in the initial days after opening.
Beavers asks the community to remain patient as improvements are made to the surrounding infrastructure.
The Farmington Chick-fil-A will be the latest in a series of new businesses coming to the city, marking a continued trend of growth and development in the Parkland.
