Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - An illegal immigrant has been sentenced to prison for child molestation.
On Monday, July 8, 2024, Pascual L. Gaspar Gaspar pled guilty to five counts of child molestation in the fourth degree and one count of enticement of a child.
Gaspar Gaspar was residing in Indiana and traveled to Missouri for the purpose of enticing and molesting his teenage victim, who he met online. After committing his crimes, Gaspar Gaspar fled Missouri. After a several week, multistate manhunt, Gaspar Gaspar was apprehended in Indiana and extradited back to Missouri.
During his plea, Gaspar Gaspar disclosed that he was not a United States citizen and that he was in the country under a claim of asylum. He admitted that the state possessed evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he had enticed and committed multiple sex acts with his underage victim.
Gaspar Gaspar was sentenced to 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for the crime of enticement of a child and 4 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for each count of child molestation in the fourth degree, with all counts to run concurrent to each other.
Gaspar Gaspar still stands indicted in federal court in the Eastern District of Missouri for interstate travel for illicit sexual purposes. Additionally, because Gaspar Gaspar plead guilty to child molestation in the fourth degree, he is eligible for commitment as a sexually violent predator.
He is anticipated to be subject to deportation proceedings if he is ever released from prison.
