Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A 59-year-old Potosi Woman is dead after a fatal traffic accident Wednesday morning at 11:20 a.m. involving 3 vehicles.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two vehicles were being driven north on Highway 21, near Flamewood Road. One was a car diven by a 48-year-old male from Irondale while the other, a pickup, was driven by a 21-year-old woman from Bonne Terre. The 59-year-old woman from Potosi was driving south in an SUV when the car driven by the Irondale man crossed over the center of the road crashing into the front of the victim's SUV. The Irondale man's car came back onto the road into the path of the third vehicle driven by the Bonne Terre woman. The two vehicles collided. The 59-year-old Potosi woman was pronounced dead on the scene.
Three passengers in the Irondale man's car were all injured including a 34-year-old woman from Irondale and a 37-year-old man from Cuba. They received serious injuries and were taken to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis. The driver was moderately injured and taken to Washington County Memorial Hospital. A passenger in the fatality vehilce, a 59-year-old man from Potosi, received moderate injuries. He was taken to Washington County Memorial Hospital.
Eveyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt when the crash took place.
