Potosi Police Warn of Counterfeit Bills

(Potosi, MO) Officials with the Potosi Police Department are warning citizens of counterfeit bills circulating around businesses in the Potosi area. A post on the department's Facebook page from Potosi Police Chief Michael Gum indicates over the past week they have received multiple reports of counterfeit twenty dollar bills showing up. One turned over to the department in the last few days was given back as change from a local business. The Chief adds it's important to pay close attention if you work with cash. Mark the bills, and if you receive a counterfeit bill please contact Potosi Police, or your local law enforcement department immediately.
