Portion of Route 221 to Close Wednesday

Doe Run, Mo. (KFMO) - A portion of Route 221, in St. Francois County, is expected to close at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21.

The portion of the highway that will close, will be from Old Vadergriff Road to Howell Road, near Doe Run. This is so contractor crews can perform pavement improvements.

Contractor crews will build temporary gravel access roads adjacent to Route 221 to allow access to Henson Road and resident homes at both the top and bottom of Stono Hill. This will be necessary in order to remove existing paving and construct the new alignment.

A detour is planned on Henson Road.  Work is expected to wrap up on Wednesday, October 30, weather permitting.
