Park Hills Man Seriously Injured in Accident, Closes Highway 67

Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - A Park Hills man was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a two vehicle accident, north of Bonne Terre.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 2:23 p.m., a truck, driven by 80-year-old Patsy F. Rudy, of Park Hills, crossed the northbound lane of Highway 67, at the entrance to St. Francois State Park, and struck the front of another truck, driving northbound, driven by 57-year-old Matthew R. Copeland, of Festus, Mo. 

76-year-old Clyde E. Cantrell, of Park Hills, was the passenger in the vehicle driven by Rudy, and was taken to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, by Air Evac, for treatment of his injuries. Both drivers were were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident and were not injured. Cantrell was not wearing a seatbelt. 

The northbound lanes of Highway 67 were closed for some time, so crews could clean up the accident.
