Park Hills Man Killed in Accident

(St. Francois County, MO) A man from Park Hills, 35 year old Timothy L. Courtwright, is dead after he was struck by a van early this Monday morning on Highway 67 near Old Orchard Road just before 5 o'clock. Highway Patrol reports indicate the van, driven by 33 year old Chelcy D. Aubuchon, of Bonne Terre, was in the southbound lanes when Courtwright walked into the roadway from the south and into the van's path. Aubuchon attempted to stop and the van began to skid striking Courtwright. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Aubuchon was not injured. The southbound lanes of the highway were shutdown for quite some time while the scene investigation was underway.
