Opioid Measure Has Debate Ahead

(Jefferson City, MO.) A bill allowing doctors to track prescription drugs is moving forward in the Missouri Legislature. The measure has passed the Missouri House and is being by Senators. State Representative, Dale Wright, says this creates a statewide database doctors can follow.

There are reportedly several senators in the newly formed Conservative Caucus who have reservations about the bill due to privacy issues. They also say they aren't convinced the database would curb addiction significantly. Roughly 85% of Missourians are already covered by a drug database which is run out of St. Louis County. The list was joined by many other counties across the state.
