New Missouri Law Concerning Evictions

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - St. Francois County Sheriff's officials are studying a new Missouri law concerning the time it takes to evict someone who is not paying rent.

St. Francois County Sheriff, Dan Bullock, says the law deals with the amount of time squatters, or someone not paying rent, has to move before being evicted.

Bullock explains those who abuse the system know the length of time they're alotted to stay in a place without paying rent and tend to move from one property to another.

The new law was passed in the last session of the Missouri Legislature and was signed into law by Governor Mike Parson.
