Mineral Point Man Injured

(Jefferson County, MO) Two people, 34 year old Craig A. Torkey of Mineral Point, and 18 year old Richard L. Gilchrist of Festus, are recovering from moderate injuries after they were hurt during a two vehicle crash in Jefferson County Friday afternoon at 4:45. Records from the Highway Patrol show Gilchrist was stopped going north on northbound Highway 67, waiting to make a left turn onto Flucom Road, when Torkey's car came south in the left lane approaching Flucom Road. Gilchrist pulled into the path of Torkey's car and the two crashed. Both men were taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson. Neither Torkey or Gilchrist was wearing a seat belt when the wreck took place.
