Matlock Sentenced to 60 Years

(Potosi, MO) A Cadet man, 61 year old Mark James Matlock, is facing 60 years in Prison after being sentenced for Manslaughter, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon for the 2021 killing of his girlfriend's grandson, 35 year old Joshua Boyer, in December of 2021. Records showed Matlock shot the victim in the back, arm, and head. Matlock had admitted to the killing yet said he was defending his girlfriend. Matlock was sentenced to the maximum allowable punishment for the charges.
