Marijuana Tax Helping Schools Fight Abuse

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The sales tax from legal marijuana will be used by the City of Farmington to help the Farmington Schools fight problems associated with drug abuse.

The City Adminstrator for Farmington, Greg Beavers, says the tax the city collects on the sale of legal marijuana will be help the school district with additonal resoruces.

According to Beavers, the tax is 3% and brings in about $30,000 a quarter.
