Man Hit Killed While Chasing His Dog

(Ste. Genevieve County, MO) A man from Ste. Genevieve, identified as 47 year old Jose Reyes, is dead after being hit by a car Wednesday night in Ste. Genevieve County. The Missouri Highway Patrol says it happened on Route F, east of Bloom road, just after 6 o'clock. That's where Reyes was walking in the westbound lane, attempting to catch his dog, when a vehicle being driven west by 67-year-old James Gilliam of Farmington hit him. Gilliam was not injured. Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ste. Genevieve County coroner.
