Man From Park Hills Convicted in Illinois

(Springfield, ILL) A man from Park Hills, 56 year old Thomas J. Wilkinson IV, is facing 20 years in prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release, after being convicted of possession of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm in the furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. He was also convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Prior to sentencing evidence from Law enforcement officials showed an Illinois State Police Trooper pulled Wilkinson over February 20th of 2021, for speeding. During a search Troopers found more than 200 grams of methamphetamine, other drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded 9mm handgun. Wilkinson also has prior drug related convictions in Missouri. The case against Wilkinson is part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods program.
