Make Sure Your Vote Counts

(Farmington, MO) With the April municipal election taking place tomorrow St. Francois County Clerk, Kevin Engler, says if you're a registered voter you should cast your ballot as there are plenty of issues and positions being decided. According to Engler the April elections aren't expected to bring a large voter turnout yet you can make a difference.

According to Engler there are over 40,000 registered voters who could take part in the election. There are plenty of issues for voters, including a county vote for an internet sales tax, a bond issue in Park Hills to build an aquatic center to replace the old swimming pool, a sales tax for public safety in Bonne Terre and Leadwood, a property tax for the Bismarck Fire Department, and a Leadington has a 1/2 of 1% sales tax on the ballot. Iron Mountain Lake officials are asking for a .10 per $100 assessed valuation property tax for public parks in the town.
