Legislation Gives More Power to Audit

(Jefferson City, MO) Legislation that would give the Missouri State Auditor's office more discretionary power to conduct an audit when there is a likelihood of fraud or mismanagement occurring in a local government. State Auditor, Scott Fitzpatrick, says it's difficult to tell those who are contacting his office with allegations, that a petition is needed before his office can conduct an audit.
