Lake Hannah Brush Fires Destroy Structures

(St. Francois County, MO) Damage is still being assessed after a large brush fire struck 50 to 60 acres of land at Lake Hannah in St. Francois County Wednesday afternoon severely burning the property as well as several cabins and outbuildings. Reports show the fire spread rapidly due to dry windy conditions. No injuries are being reported. Crews were on the scene for about 5 hours battling the blaze. Firemen with the Doe Run Fire Protection District, Pilot Knob Department, Bismarck Fire, Wolf Creek Fire, Desloge, Big River Bonne Terre Fire, Potosi , Farmington, Park Hills 3700, Lake Timberline, Hematite, Desoto Rural, Fredericktown Fire, Jefferson R7, Mapaville Fire, Irondale Fire Protection District, and Belgrade Volunteer Fire Departments all provided assistance, along with the Jefferson County Strike Team.
