Jefferson County Shooting Investigation

(Cedar Hill, MO) The investigation into a weekend shooting of a Jefferson County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team member continues. A press release from Sheriff Dave Marshak explains the officer was shot while serving a search warrant related to a possible homicide last Friday evening, May 28th, in the 8000 block of Lake Drive near Cedar Hill. Shortly after announcing their reason for being there, a man inside the home began shooting at the Deputies. The suspect was involved in multiple exchanges of gunfire with law enforcement. He was hit and ultimately succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound. The suspect’s identity is still under investigation. The Deputy was transported to an area hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. His injuries are not expected to be life threatening.
