Inmate Charged with Felonies Over Escape Attempt

(Washington County, MO) A man who was an inmate at the Potosi Correctional Center, 39 year old Aaron Stevens, is facing several felony charges regarding an alleged escape attempt in February. Stevens was charged with assault in the 1st degree, armed criminal action, violence to an employee of the department of corrections or to an inmate by an inmate, armed criminal action, delivery or possession of a weapon at a county or private jail or correctional center, and unlawful use of a weapon. Stevens is alleged to have assaulted a female guard during the incident. His initial arraignment on the charges in Washington County Circuit Court will be Monday, November 8th.
