(St. Francois County, MO.) The two suspects arrested at the end of a high speed pursuit last Friday afternoon, 48 year old David Wayne House and 30 year old Kristin Rust, will be in St. Francois County Court tomorrow for their initial appearance after the incident. House is charged with resisting arrest/detention/stop by fleeing creating a substantial risk of serious injury/death to any person, tampering with a motor vehicle in the 1st degree, and assault in the 2nd degree. Rust is facing charges of tampering with a motor vehicle in the 1st degree, three counts of tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution, and resisting/interfering with arrest for a felony. House is also charged with the felonies of robbery in the 1st degree and armed criminal action after allegedly robbing a guest at Rosener's Inn of Park Hills recently.
House and Rust were taken into custody at the end of the pursuit late last Friday afternoon just south of the intersection of Hillsboro Road and K Highway. The chase began with a license plate check on a gray minivan around the Old Elvins area of Park Hills. The van turned out to be reported as stolen. The chase went through Park Hills and Desloge then to Pratte Road and onto Hillsboro Road. The van went into a field just before the spike strips. House tried to flee on foot and Rust allegedly crashed the van into a police car.
