Hope Center Warehouse Fire

(Park Hills, MO) Damage is being reported to the warehouse of the Parkland Hope Center, at 601 Lewis Street in Park Hills, after a fire early this (Monday) morning. Park HIlls Fire Chief, Brad Weiss, tells KFMO B104 News the fire alarm in the building alerted firemen to the blaze at 4:55. The actual first alarm rang for firefighters at 5:05. There was some smoke in the building. Upon investigation the fire was discovered in the wall and ceiling of the warehouse located on the back side of the main building. Weiss adds they believe the fire was electrical in nature and near the exterior wall. It worked its way into the ceiling. According to Weiss since the walls and ceiling of the building were all metal the Farmington Fire Department's ladder truck was used to attack the fire from overhead. Firemen had to peel back a 10' X 10' area of the metal roof to access the fire. Park HIlls Firemen were assisted by the Farmington, Desloge, Leadington, Leadwood, and Big River Bonne Terre Fire Departments.
