Highway Patrol Holiday Accident Figures

(Jefferson City, MO) Missouri State Highway Patrol officials say there were six traffic fatalities, no boating fatalities, & one drowning over the July 4th holiday counting period that ran from 6 p.m., Friday, July 1st, through 11:59 p.m., Monday, July 4th. Troopers worked 285 traffic crashes, which included 107 injuries and the six fatalities. Troopers also made 141 DWI arrests and 82 drug arrests over the holiday weekend.
There were 11 boating crashes, which included five injuries. Troopers made 13 BWI arrests and 18 drug arrests. Three traffic fatalities occurred in the Troop D, Springfield, MO, area; two traffic fatalities occurred in the Troop C, Weldon Spring, MO, area; and one traffic fatality occurred in the Troop E, Poplar Bluff area. There were no fatalities in the Parkland during the counting period.
