Gamble Court Date on Murder Charges

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A former Potosi man, Thomas E. Gamble, will be in St. Francois County Circuit Court August 2, 2024 on charges of first degree murder, armed criminal action, tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution, and abandonment of a corpse in connection with the murder of John Parton of High Ridge.

Parton was 19 when he disappeared in May of 2021. Gamble, who was living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was arrested May 1st in Port Allen, Louisiana. It's alleged Gamble shot and killed Parton May 18th of 2021. The killing is said to have taken place in St. Francois County while the pair was driving south on Highway 67 at Leadington. Authorities say he then allegedly burned Parton's corpse in a wooded area off Pendleton Road following a burglary the two committed in Jefferson County.

Gamble was charged April 26, 2024 by St. Francois County Prosecutor Blake Dudley.
