Festus Man Injured in Accident

Washington Co, Mo. (KFMO) - A man and child are recovering after an accident Sunday evening in Washington County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 24-year-old Dustin M. Mills, of Festus, Missouri, was driving a Harley Davidson Street Glide, East on Route H, west of Cooper Road, when a deer ran into the path of the motorcycle. The front of the motorcycle struck the deer, causing it to overturn and slide off the right side of the roadway. Mills and an 11-year-old male juvenile, of Baltimore, Maryland, were ejected from the motorcycle.

Mills was transported to Washington County Memorial Hosptial for treatment of moderate injuries. The juvenile was transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson for treatment of minor injuries.

Both were wearing a safety device at the time of the accident.
