Fatal Crash in Washington County Claims One Life

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A fatal car accident early Saturday morning resulted in the death of a 21-year-old woman from Cadet.

The incident occurred on Cannon Mines Road, east of Highway 21, at approximately 1:45 a.m. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 19-year-old male from Cadet was traveling westbound when the vehicle began to slide. The car left the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned several times. The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by Washington County Coroner Steve Hatfield at 2:11 a.m. The driver sustained no reported injuries. Damage to the vehicle was extensive and towed from the scene. Both occupants’ use of safety devices remains unknown.

The 19-year-old, identified by the MSHP as Dakota R. Parker, was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated - death of another and voluntary manslaughter.

He was placed into the Washington County Jail on a 24 hour hold.
