Fatal Crash Claims Two Lives in Bollinger County

Bollinger Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A tragic crash on Missouri Highway 72, three miles west of Patton, resulted in two fatalities on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m. when a westbound 2011 Kia Sorento crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2002 Ford F150.

The driver of the Kia, a 48-year-old woman from Carbondale, Illinois, sustained serious injuries. She was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

The driver of the Ford, a 76-year-old man from Arcadia, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bollinger County Coroner at 2:35 p.m. A passenger in the Ford, a 75-year-old woman, also from Arcadia, succumbed to her injuries later at St. Francis Medical Center at 4:00 p.m.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
