Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - Farmington drivers will notice a new change at the intersection of A Street and Maple Street, as it has now become a four-way stop.
The addition of stop signs on A Street was prompted by a number of accidents in the area, raising concerns about traffic safety. According to city officials, the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) conducted a recent traffic count, which revealed a high volume of vehicles using Maple Street at this intersection. The data, combined with the accident history, led to the decision to improve safety by making the intersection a four-way stop.
The city hopes that the new traffic measure will help reduce accidents and ensure a safer experience for both drivers and pedestrians in the area.
Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution as they adjust to the change.
