Farmington Budget Minimum Wage Increase

(Farmington, MO) The new budget for the city of Farmington is in place, after Monday's city council meeting, and it will feature a pay raise for the city's minimum wage positions. Farmington City Administrator, Greg Beavers says the city needs to catch up to the state's minimum wage level.

The new annual budget for Farmington is about $51 million dollars with around $49.5 million in expenditures. In other business at the Farmington City Council meeting council men approved a resolution supporting the redevelopment plan for the former Mineral Area Regional Medical Center property and opted to donate some city playground equipment that's being replaced to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Low income housing from the East Missouri Action Agency was also discussed.
