Duncan Sentenced in Child Sexual Assault Case

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Park Hills man, 72-year-old David K. Duncan Sr., has been sentenced to Life in Prison on each of three counts of Statutory Rape in the First Degree and fifteen years in prison on each of six counts of Child Molestation in the Second Degree - Aggravated, in connection to a child sexual assault case, on Friday, November 22. The nine counts will run consecutively.

The sentencing follows a two day trial in August where Duncan was found guilty on all counts submitted to the jury. Duncan’s charges originated from the 2021 disclosure by a minor child family member of a series of sexual assaults committed upon the child over a period spanning from November 2018 to June 2021. At trial, the child bravely withstood four hours of examination as she provided detailed testimony of being repeatedly raped by Duncan over a course of the three years.

After handing down the sentences, Judge Horn commended the now young woman for her bravery in coming forward and facing her abuser through the difficult trial process.
