Detainee Crews to Pick Up Trash

(St. Francois County, MO) Detainee crews from the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic Correctional Center at Bonne Terre will be picking up trash from the county's roads and highways. An agreement between the county and the center was approved by county commissioners at Tuesday's commission meeting. Presiding Commissioner, Harold Gallaher, says the crews will be made up of a county employee, trained by the correctional center, and 4 prisoners who are close to ending their sentence.

Commissioners also reminded the public during days when the temperature is 92 degrees, or higher, the annex building will close at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The cooling system in the annex building isn't working properly and some offices have recorded temperatures in then 80's in their area.
