Desloge Man to be Sentenced

(Washington County, MO) A Desloge man, 40 year old John M. Roberts, will be sentenced July 11th after a plea deal was reached in Washington County. Roberts had been charged with two counts of second degree statutory rape. Reports indicate Roberts had admitted to having sexual intercourse, and performed sexual acts, on a female who was under the age of 17 at the time. The incidents are reported to have taken place in 2019 in Washington County. Roberts had made an initial plea of not guilty to the charges. The case had been set for a trial in July. Roberts is out on bond.
