Commission Continues Sidewalk Project

(St. Francois County, MO) Further approvals are in place to start work on the grant funding for a new 5 foot wide sidewalk along Highway M in the West County Schools district after Tuesday's St. Francois County Commission meeting. St. Francois County Commissioner, David Kater, says this sidewalk would connect the school's buildings and keep students off M Highway.

Funding for the project comes from a matching grant that would see the county pay for 25% of the work while the state would pay for 75% of the project. In other business at Tuesday's St. Francois County Commission meeting several unused alleyways in the county were vacated and a bid for 50 computers for the county was rejected.
